Delhi Heat Alert: Temperature hits 36°C in March, heat wave threat in NCR (X)
New Delhi: This year, summer has arrived early in Delhi-NCR. In the second week of March itself, the maximum temperature has reached around 36 degrees Celsius, due to which meteorologists have predicted severe heat in the coming months. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the day as well as night temperature is continuously increasing and the minimum temperature has been recorded at around 19 degrees Celsius. Experts believe that if this pace continues then this summer may break many old records.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Delhi-NCR has started rising rapidly since the beginning of March. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 36 degrees Celsius by the second week. Generally this temperature is seen around April, so this change in the weather is pointing towards warmer than normal.
Now the cold of night seems to be almost ending in Delhi-NCR. According to meteorologists, the minimum temperature has reached around 19 degrees Celsius. It is clear from the increasing temperature during the day as well as at night that the weather is changing rapidly and the effect of heat is gradually increasing.
If we look at the data of last season, this time the effect of cold did not last long. A cold wave-like situation did occur for a few days at the end of December, but after that the severe cold did not last long. Even in January and February, cold was felt relatively less during the day, due to which weather experts had already predicted the possibility of early summer.
The bright sunshine and reduction in fog during February also indicated that the weather was changing rapidly. At that time the effect of cold wave had almost ended and the day temperature was continuously increasing. For this reason, the effects of heat started becoming visible in the early days of March itself.
Meteorologists predict that this year the heat may be more than normal. The month of March is likely to be warmer than average, while the weather patterns may change further in April and May. During these months, there is also a possibility of dust storms, light rain at some places and hailstorms.
According to experts, the temperature reaching around 36 degrees in March itself is an indication that the heat may become more intense in the coming months. If the temperature continues to rise like this, then there is a possibility of many old records being broken in Delhi-NCR between April and June.
